I've heard fellow Christians say dumb things before....

But really, this dumb?

I never want to meet the person who watches this video, smacks their forehead with their hand and says, "Wow! I never realized how true this is! I've been proving that evolution can't work my whole life!"

Thanks to Skippy - you can too!

YouTube - Chris Elliott's Mac vs. PC Commercial 2

This is great - I enjoy the Mac vs. PC ads, and all the various parodies. I think this is the first time in about 7 years that Chris Elliott was funny! Good for him.

Verbatim Quotes from Republicans when Clinton was Prez.

"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is." --Texas Governor George W. Bush, April 9, 1999, on the US intervention in Kosovo

Obviously, we have a double standard when it comes to deciding what good foreign policy is.

Obama Gaffe: "10,000" Died In Kan. Tornado, Democratic Presidential Candidate Made Erroneous Remark During Fundraiser - CBS News

And the Republicans are whining about "special treatment" in the media for Obama, pointing out how often GW is taken to task for his "gaffes." Of course, if GW's weren't so danged hilarious, he might have a case:

"I'm honored to be here with the eternal general of the United States, mi amigo Alberto Gonzales." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 4, 2007

"Either we'll succeed, or we won't succeed. And the definition of success as I described is sectarian violence down. Success is not no violence." --George W. Bush, on Iraq, Washington, D.C., May 2, 2007

"Success is not no violence." I'm gonna put that up on my kid's wall as a reminder of why he needs to stay in school.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry:

Jerry Falwell died today. I sometimes forget how long he was around - but some of these gems are 40 years old. He really should have known better. Click the headline for more. (The best headline I've seen so far was "700 Club Now has 699" I like that one best because there are way too many truly meanspirited ones.)

'God is a Republican' - Jerry Falwell - 1979

'Jesus was the First American.' - Jerry Falwell - circa 1977

'I do question the sincerity of people like the Reverend Martin Luther King...' Jerry Falwell - 1965

Bible Fight

On the first go-round, Eve totally kicked my butt.
Holocaust Survivor Leaving US

On the one hand, I'm hoping this is a true story, and the author isn't just making it up to prove his point. On the other hand, I'm hoping it's not true - I don't want to believe that someone sees the state of our country as this corrupt and void of goodness.
Conservative poll shows higher numbers favor impeaching Bush than favored impeaching Clinton:

"Would you favor or oppose the impeachment by Congress of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney?"

Favor: 39%

Oppose:55 %

Undecided/Don't Know: 6%

Just before Clinton was impeached, the numbers looked like this:

Phase I: Aug-Sept 1998 (Before Impeachment)

* Average support for impeachment and removal (10 polls): 26%
* Average support for hearings (6 polls): 36%

However, don't expect the Dems to try to impeach him. We learned our lesson watching the Republicans frothing at the mouth at the prospect of finally "getting" Clinton. Instead, they saw their support falter. In my district, a newer congressman was ousted - Jim Rogan, who had served as one of the House Managers of the impeachment. I think it's a valuable lesson.

Final comment goes to the author of the article:

"Nevertheless, the astounding public sentiment expressed in this poll illustrates just how far Bush and Cheney may have set their party back."

Legislature to Bush: Give us a timetable for the pullout of the troops.
Bush to Legislature: I'll veto it!
Legislature to Bush: No you won't, we're the Iraqi legislature!

Majority of Iraqi Lawmakers Now Reject Occupation

Maybe now someone in the administration will realize it's in everyone's best interest for us to let them govern themselves.
Romney assails Sharpton's comments about Mormons, says could be considered 'bigoted comment'

Rev. Al stepped in it again. He can try to spin out of this, but the truth is, Al Sharpton is a bigoted opportunist. He clearly uses race as a way to get publicity for himself, but when it comes to his own beliefs, he's no better than Imus.

Well, maybe Imus is better - he's not a hypocrite to boot.

NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!:

"The Seattle event is free and an announcement makes no mention as to whether Sanjaya will be singing. Although according to the release, Sanjaya will soon head into the studio to work on his debut album."

Debut album!?!? Put it in the bin right next to William Hung's, and anything sung by William Shatner.
Middle-Class Life Under Bush: Less Affordable and Less Secure

Here are a few examples from the article. Keep in mind that in spite of the facts, this is from the Democrats, so it must be part of the vast liberal media conspiracy:

"Gas prices have more than doubled. Prices at the gas pump have jumped 102.7 percent from $1.47 per gallon the week President Bush took office in January 2001[3] to $2.87 in the latest week of energy price data.[4] "

"College education costs have risen by 44 percent. Average tuition, fees, room, and board costs at four-year private universities have increased by $6,786 from $22,240 in the 2000-2001 academic year to $29,026 in the 2005-2006 academic year."

"Health care premiums have increased by over 80 percent. The cost of family health insurance has skyrocketed 80.8 percent since 2000."

"Worst job creation record since Hoover Administration. A growing economy should be good news for those seeking jobs. But over the course of President Bush’s term in office, his Administration has the worst overall job creation record since Herbert Hoover more than 70 years ago"

What?!?! He can't even beat Hoover? That's incredible. We all knew that this administration was bad, but seeing the facts laid out in black and white is still a slap in the face.
Safe for Work Image

This just really cracked me up. Slightly risque content, though.

Worst lyric in pop history

They have too many clicks - so here's the list:

The BBC 6 Music Taxing Lyrical Top 10

1. Des’ree - Life

I don't want to see a ghost
It's the sight that I fear most
I'd rather have a piece of toast
Watch the evening news

2. Snap - Rhythm Is A Dancer

I'm as serious as cancer
When I say rhythm is a dancer

3. Razorlight - Somewhere Else

And I met a girl
She asked me my name
I told her what it was

4. ABC - That Was Then But This Is Now

More sacrifices than an Aztec priest
Standing here straining at that leash
All fall down
Can't complain, mustn't grumble
Help yourself to another piece of apple crumble

5. U2 - Elevation

I've got no self control
Been living like a mole now
Going down, excavation
High and high in the sky
You make me feel like I can fly
So high
Elevation

6. Toto - Africa

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti

7. Oasis - Champagne Supernova

Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you when we were getting high?

8. Duran Duran - Is There Something I Should Know?

And fiery demons all dance when you walk through that door
Don't say you're easy on me you're about as easy as a nuclear war

9. Human League - The Lebanon

Before he leaves the camp he stops
He scans the world outside
And where there used to be some shops
Is where the snipers sometimes hide

10. Black Sabbath - War Pigs

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses

I can think of a few that ought to be here...

White Stripes: Hardest Button to Button

I had a brain
That felt like pancake batter
I got a backyard
With nothing in it
Except a stick
A dog
And a box with something in it
The hardest button to button(x7)
*background: The hardest button to button (x3)

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Scar Tissue

Push me up against the wall
Young Kentucky girl in a push-up bra
Fallin’ all over myself
To lick your heart and taste your health ’cause
With the birds I’ll share
This lonely view...

I especially like the way they rhyme Wall and Bra.

What's your favorite terrible lyric?

Robbery victim glued to exercise bike:

"'The victim was then forced to strip, after which he was super-glued to the seat of an exercise bicycle, his hands were super-glued as were his feet and then his mouth was super-glued shut,'"

Ouch. This is why I go to the gym.
