Election result maps

This is really interesting. We've all seen the maps showing "Red vs. Blue" states. Most of those maps make it appear that most of the country is Red, while the coasts are blue. These maps show the Red vs. Blue results in a different way - by population.
Bush Pre-senile Dementia Video:

"The big story - 'a striking decline in his sentence-by-sentence speaking skills.' The reason? One doctor says 'pre-senile dementia' a catch-all term for earlier-than-normal cognitive declines (probably 'dry-drunk syndrome'). This video intercuts footage from 10 years ago with recent footage - the difference is dramatic and disturbing. And obvious."

This is one reason why I've decided that we should not have the death penalty:

"'With a little extra work, a little extra effort, maybe we'd have gotten the right information,' Ward said. 'The bottom line is, an innocent person was put to death for it. We all have our finger in that.'"

I don't even know what a Gravid is!

How did this happen?

You are Slackware Linux. You are the brightest among your peers, but are often mistaken as insane. Your elegant solutions to problems often take a little longer, but require much less effort to complete.
Which OS are You?
Vatican official: 'Intelligent design' isn't science:

"'If they respect the results of modern science, and indeed the best of modern biblical research, religious believers must move away from the notion of a dictator God or a designer God, a Newtonian God who made the universe as a watch that ticks along regularly.'
Rather, he argued, God should be seen more as an encouraging parent."

Turkey Fryer Safety Tips

I almost always fry a turkey or two each Thanksgiving. The Underwriters Laboratories don't like turkey fryers. You just have to be careful! When you have a large group, being able to cook a turkey in 45 minutes is really an advantage.

This is a pretty spectacular movie of the dangers a turkey fryer can pose (Warning: 13 MB)

"President Bush is so worried that many of his top aides and associates in Congress will be imprisoned for assorted wrong-doing
that he's busily converting the West Wing of the White House into an "Arrest Wing" a row of prison cells from which these aides can keep working if they're ever convicted."
Los Angeles Named Nation's Smog Capital

Ahhh.... the sweet smell of home...

"Although it led the nation in smoggy days, the Los Angeles region's air is considerably cleaner than it used to be."
Poll: Most Americans Say Bush Not Honest :

"Almost six in 10 now say Bush is not honest, and a similar number say his administration does not have high ethical standards."

What was it that they said about Clinton? I seem to remember something about "personal ethics?" That it he wasn't doing a bad job of being President, but that it was difficult to trust him. Some said that if you couldn't trust him in his personal relationships, how could you trust his political ones?

Well, now we have our answer. Now we have a President who not only does a poor job of being President, but also has serious ethical shortcomings. When Bush lies to us, it's about money and power. Which disturbs me way more than sex.

Frankly, I just wish someone would blow Bush so we could get him out of there.

(And thanks to Stephen H. for pointing out this story!)

I really found this interesting

We all want to think that the worst computer bugs come from Microsoft - but often they came from our own government or educational establishment.

I did find the story about the first "bug" really cool.

Ha, Ha!! My broken iPod sold for $86!!

Much better than I thought it would. I had more fun watching the bidding than I thought. The money is fine, but watching this has been hilarious. I hope the person who bought either knows how to fix it, or can use the parts. Because $86 for a paperweight is a little high.

eBay: Are you smarter than me? Broken 15GB ipod (item 5825668792 end time Nov-08-05 14:30:16 PST)

Well, I think this is hilarious. I've put my broken iPod on eBay. I can't get the thing to start up. So, I hope my little story and self-deprecating humor adds to the bidding. Go ahead and track the auction and mock me.

But if it gets over $65, I'll have had the last laugh!!!
