Middle-Class Life Under Bush: Less Affordable and Less Secure

Here are a few examples from the article. Keep in mind that in spite of the facts, this is from the Democrats, so it must be part of the vast liberal media conspiracy:

"Gas prices have more than doubled. Prices at the gas pump have jumped 102.7 percent from $1.47 per gallon the week President Bush took office in January 2001[3] to $2.87 in the latest week of energy price data.[4] "

"College education costs have risen by 44 percent. Average tuition, fees, room, and board costs at four-year private universities have increased by $6,786 from $22,240 in the 2000-2001 academic year to $29,026 in the 2005-2006 academic year."

"Health care premiums have increased by over 80 percent. The cost of family health insurance has skyrocketed 80.8 percent since 2000."

"Worst job creation record since Hoover Administration. A growing economy should be good news for those seeking jobs. But over the course of President Bush’s term in office, his Administration has the worst overall job creation record since Herbert Hoover more than 70 years ago"

What?!?! He can't even beat Hoover? That's incredible. We all knew that this administration was bad, but seeing the facts laid out in black and white is still a slap in the face.

Not only are they conspiring liberals, they're innumerate. Twice $1.47 is $2.94, which means that gas prices have not "more than doubled." Similarly, a rise in college costs from $22240 to $29026 represents an increase of about 30.1%, not the 44% they claim.

Not that I'm defending the Bushies, but liberals are supposed to be the fact-based community, so can we at least get our facts straight?
