US says world terrorism attacks kill 14,600 in '05

No matter what spin they want to place on this, 3129 terror attacks in 2004 vs. 11,000 terrorist attacks in 2005 does not make me feel safer.

Good thing we got the whole War on Terror thing taken care of.

"Mission Accomplished."

Stealing from Dan'l:

Sturgeon's Lawyer has a fun meme- On Wikipedia, look up your birthday and list three notable events, two celebrity birthdays, and one celebrity death. I'm taking Dan'l's suggestion and linking to the article.

"1666 - Great Fire of London ends: A large fire in London burns out after three days. 10,000 buildings including St. Paul's Cathedral are destroyed, but only 16 people are known to have died."

1774 - First Continental Congress assembles in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

1882 - The first United States Labor Day parade is held in New York City

Births:
1638 - Louis XIV of France (d. 1715)
1929 - Bob Newhart, American actor and comedian

Death:
1997 - Mother Teresa, Albanian missionary and humanitarian, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (b. 1910)
