It's All About Who You Sleep With ... a Cautionary Note from Michael Moore:
"Nearly every Democrat set to run for president in 2008 is responsible for this war. They voted for it or they supported it. That single, stupid decision has cost us 2,592 American lives and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives. Lieberman and Company made a colossal mistake -- and we are going to make sure they pay for that mistake. Payback time started last night."

Is this really true? Are we to hold every Dem who voted for or supported the war in those early days after 9/11 responsible? Sure, I wish they had stood up against Bush, but popular sentiment at the time made that political suicide. I've always felt that invading Iraq was more about getting even with Saddam - sort of a Husseinfields and McBushes fued. When George the first couldn't eliminate Saddam, George the second took it upon himself to finish the job. Crisis Papers has a great article(pops) about the PNAC and how convenient 9/11 was for the Bush Administration.

But if we eliminate all those who supported or voted for the war, even if they have now changed their tune, who will we have left?

It is indeed nonsensical. I worked for Kucinich two years ago because he had had the yarbles to vote against the war in the first place, but in the end I voted for Kerry in November even though "he was for the war before he was against the war."

Many were manipulated into voting for the war by the Administration's misuse of intelligence data (not to say outright lies) to make Iraq look like an actual threat.

Those who did not quickly turn around when this manipulation became evident -- yes, they should be kicked out on their heinies.
