Hi Lou! Can I have some of your hard earned money? I'm doing fine and don't need it, but you have more than I do. As a staunch socialist, apparently you would have no issue with handing some of it over. . .I'll keep an eye on the mail for the arrival of your personal check.

Sure. If you would not be so cowardly as to post anonymously maybe I could. But since you don't, I'll spread my wealth among people I'm familiar with and that I know deserve it.

How do you know what I do with my money? Are you sure I'm not already "handing some of it over?"

Send me your address and why you think you deserve it more than the other people I send it to, and I'll consider it.

Lou,

Greetings from another "Socialist," according to this test - although I prefer the appellation (or derogation to some who wish to remain "anonymous," I suppose) of "Liberal."

Be that as it may, at least I'm not afraid to append my name to this comment.

I'm not so sure I agree with the labels on this test. Most of the questions that label one a socialist are dealing with things we often call socially liberal, like funding art and health care. Neither make me a socialist in the strictest sense of the word, it more likely makes me a compassionate Christian. I'm a pretty die hard Capitalist - but with a humanitarian streak. Maybe more like Rockefeller? But certainly not on that scale!

Hey Lou, your 12:17 PM-time stamped comment makes more sense to me. My first post to this thread was intended to be facetious. Of course I wouldn't just ask for a hand out, especially when I'm doing ok. The comment was mostly to elicit a response. Bland comments tend not to get responses, while a more caustic version tends to demand a response. I'm curious about your views of Obama's "Spread the Wealth" statements that the GOP and others ran with and declared as "socialist."
I admire your entrepreneurial skills and efforts. We've discussed this before--your line of work vs mine (perhaps this tells you who I am). You've done well from what I gather. This has been through your risk and efforts and those who have joined your team. And as you stated in your initial reply-you do what you choose with your money. I commend that behavior and attiude. I do the same. But, for MY money I want to be the one who determines where it goes. I want to elect my charitable giving, NOT have the government TAKE it from me and decide which individual is "deserving" or which group should receive funding. In my book, generosity does not equal socialism. Discussion?
